Suggested Installation Instructions:
1) Make a new directory on the C drive:
C:>mkdir response
2) Copy the software from the installation floppy's to new directory.
For example, assuming that a Response Software installation
disk is in drive B:
C:>copy B:\*.* C:\response
Repeat the procedure for the second installation disk.
Or if you have the XTZ.ZIP version, use PKZIP version 2 to
unzip the software to the C:\response directory.
NOTE: You will also need to obtain a copy of the VBRUN300.DLL
file, available from Compuserve, Microsoft, or VLSI. It
is a commonly used language interpreter, not duplicated
for distribution with this package.
3) Go into Windows Program Manager and add a program item
for the Response System program, under Startup Group as follows:
a) Under Program Manager, click the Startup Group.
b) Under the File menu, click New.
c) Under New Program Object, click Program Item, click OK.
d) Under Program Item Properties:
Description: Enter Response System
Command Line: Enter C:\response\xtn.exe
Working Directory: Enter C:\response
e) Click the Change Icon button.
f) Under Change Icon:
File Name: Enter C:\response\earth.ico, click OK
g) Click OK, the program item will appear with an earth icon
under the program group you selected.
4) From now on, you may run the program from within Windows,
just by double clicking the Response System earth icon.
If you want to stop running the program automatically each
time Windows begins, just move (drag with mouse) the earth
icon from the Startup Group to any other Group of your choice.
5) Additional information on installation can be found in the
on-line help system within the application.
